I love playing with colours and forms,
a very deep sense of freedom emerges,
words seem to be more demanding,
but let me try . . .
About Me

I am Melanie. I was born in Switzerland where I trained and worked as nurse in mental health.

I have been attracted to Art Therapy for many years. I came to Australia in 2006 to live with my partner.

In 2008 I graduated in Transpersonal Art Therapy at the College of Complementary Medicine in Hornsby.

For me the biggest gift about being here in Australia is nature herself, she is very strong here in the Blue Mountains, I love exploring in her.

My Journey with Painting

Painting, meditation and being in nature are my way of going the inner path of my life.

Through times of great struggle the oilpastels and paper were often like islands. I went through times of intensive meditation, and there too my inner experience could find a channel on the paper. My pastels and paper also came with me on my journeys to India during my twenties. I learned about devotion, meditation, yoga asana and vedic philosophy, but was also fascinated by the colourful Hindu tradition.

I love the play of colour and form. For many years painting was for me a play with aspects of light, light bodies, light manifestations.

Today I embrace the understanding of darkness as much as light, both as part of the One.

I love to explore beauty and ugliness, joy and pain as an ongoing journey. In times of strong inner experience colours and form are my way to express what is there, wanting to be seen, heard and felt.

Also in times of disconnection painting is my path to reconnect back to my inner self.

Painting makes me realize the richness, the depth, the meaningfulness and strength of that inner me.

In Gratitude

To my mother Helena, a great Artist, she surrounded us with colours wile growing up and set of the first sparks for painting.
To my father Christian who accepted me with my path even in times it took very strange shapes.
To Vicki my Art Therapy teacher and friend, for her gentle and all-embracing understanding of the inner.
To Rene my dear friend back in Switzerland for being part of my journey, his wisdom, and for doing this website.
To Nicholas my Partner for his love and journeying with me.
To the Earthmother for being my teacher, my deepest nourishment and home.
